What I fix, and what it costs

Repairs only — no new sails, no canvas. Anything not listed bills hourly, quoted first.

Restitch is per foot of run — measured once, not per row. Cover run = leech + foot.

Minimum $95 per visit — a floor, not an hour. Work bills at $85/hr. Standard materials included; † lines include a named material at standard spec. Rush (under 5 days) adds 25%. Turnaround runs from when the sail reaches the bench.

Inspection $45 per sail, when a vague request means opening the whole sail to find the problem. I'll say so before I start. Home or business pickup $45 each way, within 20 miles of Frisco.

Within 20 miles of Frisco, Texas. The $45 applies each direction — $90 for pickup and return.

How pickup works

Have the sail off the boat and bagged before I arrive. I collect the bag — I don't drop sails off the rig. Not sure how? Ask.

Before you bring it in

  1. Dry it. A damp sail bagged up grows mildew.
  2. Shake out the grit. Sand dulls needles and scores cloth.
  3. Check for rodent nesting. If you find droppings, staining, or nesting — don't shake, sweep, or vacuum it. Bag it and call me.
  4. Pull what you want back. Battens, and hardware that isn't part of the repair.
  5. Mark the damage. A photo or tape at the spot keeps the quote down.

On #3: dried rodent droppings carry hantavirus, which goes airborne the moment it's disturbed — exactly what shaking or vacuuming does. The CDC guide covers the health side, but it was written for houses — its bleach mix will ruin sailcloth. Don't improvise. Bag it and call me; it's very likely still a good sail.
